OUR SDGs
At the Golden Crown Organization, our programs are designed to align with and advance several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reflecting our commitment to creating a positive and lasting impact. We focus on:
SDG 3:
Good Health and Well-being
Our commitment to enhancing health and well-being is reflected through targeted programs aimed at improving both physical and mental health.
Power Girl Initiative: We provide comprehensive educational workshops on menstrual health and hygiene to young girls. This initiative addresses health-related challenges by equipping girls with essential knowledge and resources, preventing potential health issues and ensuring they manage their menstrual health effectively.
Malkia Program: This program supports young and teenage mothers who are experiencing or at high risk of GBV. We offer counseling, mental health support, and a safe environment to help them recover from trauma and build healthier lives, thus contributing to their emotional and psychological well-being.
Be Sober Program: Focused on addiction recovery, this program provides support for rehabilitating drug addicts. Through counseling and structured recovery plans, we aim to improve participants' physical health and help them achieve long-term sobriety, contributing to their overall well-being.
SDG 4:
Quality Education
We are dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities and skills development through our programs.
Power Girl Initiative: This initiative offers workshops that go beyond menstrual health, including life skills training and educational support. By providing these resources, we empower young girls with the knowledge and skills necessary for personal and academic success, fostering their overall educational development.
Malkia Program: In addition to support services, we provide vocational training in areas such as fashion design. This program equips young mothers with practical skills and educational opportunities, improving their ability to secure employment and advance their personal and professional development.
Siku Moja Film Initiative: We engage youth through filmmaking, promoting creativity and storytelling as powerful educational tools. This initiative not only enhances their technical skills but also encourages critical thinking and social change, contributing to their broader educational experience.
SDG 5:
Gender Equality
Our programs are designed to address and advance gender equality by empowering individuals and promoting gender justice.
Power Girl Initiative: Focuses on preventing GBV by empowering young girls with education and resources before they face violence. This proactive approach helps build resilience and gender equality from an early age, supporting the development of empowered, confident young women.
Malkia Program: Specifically targets young and teenage mothers who are experiencing or at risk of GBV. By providing support, vocational training, and advocacy, we aim to address and mitigate gender inequalities and ensure these young women have the tools and opportunities to overcome systemic barriers.
Siku Moja Film Initiative: Utilizes filmmaking to raise awareness about gender issues and promote gender equality. By showcasing stories and experiences through film, we foster dialogue and understanding around gender justice and social equity.
SDG 8:
Decent Work & Economic Growth
We support economic development and provide opportunities for meaningful employment through our various programs.
Malkia Program: Offers vocational training in fashion design, enabling young mothers to gain marketable skills and access employment opportunities. This program helps them achieve economic independence and contribute to sustained economic growth.
Siku Moja Film Initiative: Provides training in filmmaking, offering youth pathways to employment in the creative industry. By fostering skills in film production, we contribute to economic development and job creation within the sector.

A Message from the Founder
-Mike 'Leon' Mwangi
In 2020, amidst the challenges of a global pandemic, I encountered a profound story that reshaped my perspective forever. I met Maria*, a 12-year-old girl living in the heart of a bustling slum in the suburbs of Nakuru City, Kenya . Her resilience and determination in the face of adversity left an indelible mark on me.
Maria's daily struggle to afford basic menstrual hygiene products forced her into the hands of exploitative older individuals who promised help in exchange for unspeakable favors. It was a stark revelation of the harsh realities faced by vulnerable girls in impoverished communities.
Moved by Maria's plight, I founded the Golden Crown Organization. Our mission is to provide essential support and empowerment to girls like Maria, ensuring they have access to menstrual health resources, education, and protection from exploitation.
At Golden Crown, we believe in the power of collective action to bring about meaningful change. Through our initiatives, we aim to create a world where every girl can pursue her dreams without compromising her dignity.
Explore our website to learn more about Maria's story, our impactful initiatives, and how you can join us in making a difference in the lives of girls like her.
Thank you for supporting our mission to create a brighter future for all.
Warm regards,
